Show Day

Shooting in theatres can be VERY challenging!Lighting conditions vary wildly from scene to scene, and audio will range from a single performer speaking softly to a full company of 100+ performers on stage at once.Arriving early on show day, we find the best shooting location, chat to the lighting & sound engineers, set up our gear, connect to the house PA, and test that everything is ready to go.We shoot on broadcast quality 4K cameras, and record audio from both the theatre audio system as well as multiple microphones on the stage and in the auditorium to guarantee the perfect capture of every sparkling sequin and every tap dancers paradiddle!

Editing

After the curtain falls, we rush the footage back to base where we use Davinci Resolve, an industry standard tool used on countless Hollywood movies to check, synchronise, trim, polish, grade, adding animated graphics, captions and credits.

The final step is audio sweetening in the mix, to produce the highest quality "Master" film.

An approval file is sent to the dance/drama schoo or academy for a final thumbs up, before going on to produce the end products that are sent to the eager families.

Promotional Material

As our editors start to work, the first thing they do is to just watch the raw footage of the show from start to finish.The standout moments will make themselves known, and these gems will get 5 gold stars and get copied to a special "highlights" folder.From here, we will create a variety of vertical trailer videos for you share on your social media channels, whetting parent’s appetites with tantalising glimpses of the show!

If we have also done stage photography, custom gallery trailers will be made, all using the show's custom branding, which is also used to build your own show-branded, password-protected gallery, where families can pre-order their copy of the show on USB, DVD or as a Digital Download.

Manufacturing

While the editing is taking place, designers are creating eyecatching designs from the show art,  and photography to use as cover art for the USB and DVD cases. These are high quality Amaray cases that blend into any discerning collector’s movie collection!

Once the Master film is ready, we use it to burn the DVDs and USB sticks, ready to package up and swiftly send out to customers, promising delivery within 30 days of the show date.

Customers who pre-order Digital Download versions of the show will get access to the film before anyone else, so can be among the first to watch the show in all its glory!
